St Aidan's Church at the top of Polwarth Drive on Brunton Park, hopes to be a lively, inclusive and outward looking church, serving the community which includes Walkworth Woods and Melbury.

Worship is a mixture of the traditional and informal with activities for children. Sermons explore the meaning of the Gospel for today. We are particularly concerned to use the church building for the good of the community.

A warm welcome awaits visitors.

Our vision is to be a source of inspiration and compassion for the community.

Services Sunday' s 8am Holy Communion (except the first Sunday of the month) (said with short talk) 9.30am Parish Eucharist (mixture of modern hymns, thoughtful sermon followed by tea and chat)

Children's groups for up to 15 years Sunflower Seeds, Sunflowers and Dead Heads on Second and Fourth Sunday's of the month, Family Friendly on the third Sunday. Informal service every first Sunday of the Month at 11.00am (drama, crafts and fun followed by refreshments).

Especially for Great Park Residents: Chill out time. There will be ‘Relax, Reflect and Revive’ sessions at St Aidans between 7pm - 8pm , on Sunday’s 28th Feb, 7th March and 14th 7pm - 8pm March. These times will provide very busy people opportunity to explore things that engender lasting fulfillment, contentment, and encourage reflection, with the use of multi sensory Christian materials.

Melbury and Warkworth Woods

Melbury & Warkworth Woods Residents Association is managed by a committee of volunteers all of whom live on Melbury or Warkworth Woods on the Newcastle Great Park, and who were elected at an Annual General Meeting.

The committee meet regularly on the last Monday of every month (with the exception of August). Membership of the Association is automatic to residents of both Melbury and Warkworth Woods and there are no subscriptions payable.

The Aims and Objectives of the Association are to represent the best interest of residents both individually and collectively, by liaising with the Consortium of housebuilders, Newcastle City Council and its Councillors, the Parish Council and other decision makers concerning the Great Park.
