Brian Cunningham – Senior Engineer, Taylor Wimpey

Councillors:
    David Downs -  Parklands Ward
    Lord Shipley -  Parklands Ward

Representatives from the Community Police (subject to availability)

Residents who attend the meeting are reminded that there will not be a formal Agenda, but points for discussion (in no particular order) will include:

     •   The Bund and Landscaping works
     •   Completion of road and footpath resurfacing and Featherstone Grove
     •   Deregulation of the bus route along Featherstone Grove
     •   Street lighting
     •   Outstanding works preventing adoption of Warkworth Woods
     •   Planning conditions/restrictions relating to shop units
     •   The Parish Council boundary review
     •   Anti-social behaviour and estate policing

The purpose of this meeting is for you to ask your questions of the Consortium and the City Council which relate to the completion of the outstanding works to Melbury and Warkworth Woods.  The Association cannot enter into dialogue with individual residents concerned about alleged breaches of planning consents and defective properties which may be sub-judice, and consequently neither the Consortium nor Newcastle City Council will enter into dialogue concerning this at the open meeting.

Outcomes from the open meeting will be recorded and an agreed list of actions will be produced from notes taken and agreed with invited representatives.  This will then be posted on the Melbury and Warkworth Woods website, and forwarded to Sue Wannop for her to arrange for it to be displayed on the notice board in Featherstone Grove.

If you are interested in becoming an active committee member of the Association, please arrange for a nomination form to be completed on your behalf and returned to the Association Secretary, Dick Godfrey at 11 Halton Way by Wednesday 1st June 2011, one week prior to the AGM at the latest.  Nomination forms will be available at the open meeting.

Melbury and Warkworth Woods

Melbury & Warkworth Woods Residents Association is managed by a committee of volunteers all of whom live on Melbury or Warkworth Woods on the Newcastle Great Park, and who were elected at an Annual General Meeting.

The committee meet regularly on the last Monday of every month (with the exception of August). Membership of the Association is automatic to residents of both Melbury and Warkworth Woods and there are no subscriptions payable.

The Aims and Objectives of the Association are to represent the best interest of residents both individually and collectively, by liaising with the Consortium of housebuilders, Newcastle City Council and its Councillors, the Parish Council and other decision makers concerning the Great Park.
