24 May 2011 - WORKS TO THE CRESCENT AFFECTING FEATHERSTONE GROVE

As discussed at the Residents' Open Meeting last week, Brian Cunningham of Taylor Wimpey has today contacted me with regard to the works to be carried out at The Crescent end of Featherstone Grove.  He will need to bring a track vehicle on a low loader down Featherstone Grove which will be used to reduce the levels within the Crescent Area to facilitate the parking works.  These works will be undertaken on Thursday and Friday of this week 26/27 May.

He has requested that this information be circulated around the Estate to make residents aware, and also to request that residents do not park along the whole of Featherstone Grove for these two days.  The contractors will be using dumpers to ferry the waste material along Featherstone Grove and taken to an area across to the other side of the A1.

I have been assured that they will clean any mess left on the roads throughout these works.  Brian has apologised for any inconvenience caused during these works and thanks us for our co-operation.

Melbury and Warkworth Woods

Melbury & Warkworth Woods Residents Association is managed by a committee of volunteers all of whom live on Melbury or Warkworth Woods on the Newcastle Great Park, and who were elected at an Annual General Meeting.

The committee meet regularly on the last Monday of every month (with the exception of August). Membership of the Association is automatic to residents of both Melbury and Warkworth Woods and there are no subscriptions payable.

The Aims and Objectives of the Association are to represent the best interest of residents both individually and collectively, by liaising with the Consortium of housebuilders, Newcastle City Council and its Councillors, the Parish Council and other decision makers concerning the Great Park.
