Newcastle City Council are running a campaign in the area to combat parking problems, there will be notices going in the noticeboard soon saying ..........

DO NOT DRIVE OR PARK ON THE PAVEMENT

  • Do not partially or wholly on the pavement unless signs permit it.
  • This is a serious hazard to pedestrians, especially those with mobility issues, wheelchair users or people who have a visual impairment.
  • It's an inconvenience for people with pushchairs and buggies who cannot squeeze through small gaps.
  • Children are taught that the pavement is a sfe place to b, don't block their way.
  • We would ask you to think about how your actions could impact others before you park.
  • Double parking can block fire engines and ambulances, costing valuable moments in emergencies

These restrictions are often deliberately placed to allow safe crossing of the road. You may be glad of them when crossing to your car! Nationwide the police are able to take action when a vehicle parke on the pavement and is deemed to be causing an obstruction or is parked dangerously.

Keep us safe. Park right first time.
