Statement from the Residents Association:

The Forum was created on the website to allow an opportunity for residents to communicate with each other in an informal way, and as a committee we have all been pleasantly surprised at the amount of activity and posting traffic the forum has generated.  When the website was under construction, the Forum was an aspect which was untried and we are delighted at its success.

Four members of the Residents Association act as moderators on this website, and regularly visit the Forum.  We use the discussion threads as a basis for our committee meetings, and where relevant, in discussions with the Consortium, Newcastle City Council and the Parish Council.  Updates are provided in the Minutes (which are posted on the website) and as articles on the front page of the website when appropriate.

Initially, we collectively agreed to take a back seat and allow contributors to the Forum to self-manage their postings which has worked well.  In the light of recent discussions concerning certain aspects of the estate, we feel the time is now right for us to respond where appropriate with factual information.

You can now look forward to non-biased postings from ‘Residents Association’ which do not reflect any individual’s opinion.  We look forward to receiving your feedback.

Melbury and Warkworth Woods

Melbury & Warkworth Woods Residents Association is managed by a committee of volunteers all of whom live on Melbury or Warkworth Woods on the Newcastle Great Park, and who were elected at an Annual General Meeting.

The committee meet regularly on the last Monday of every month (with the exception of August). Membership of the Association is automatic to residents of both Melbury and Warkworth Woods and there are no subscriptions payable.

The Aims and Objectives of the Association are to represent the best interest of residents both individually and collectively, by liaising with the Consortium of housebuilders, Newcastle City Council and its Councillors, the Parish Council and other decision makers concerning the Great Park.
